Recruitment Consultant

Professional Background

I began my career in medical recruitment as a switchboard operator eight years ago. Since then, I have taken on various roles, including sales support, payroll, compliance and operations management, primarily within nursing. Before joining Charterhouse Medical, I had no experience in sales-based roles, but I started as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant. Over time, I progressed to Senior Recruitment Consultant and now specialise in recruiting psychiatry doctors.

Recruitment Achievements

One of my key achievements was working with a candidate who was looking to move overseas. She had prior experience working in the UK but hadn’t been there in several years. She had also never worked as a locum and was quite nervous about the process. I guided her through each step and even attended property viewings in London on her behalf before she travelled. She is still working with us today and has been in the same contract for over three years.

Due to my diverse experience in various job roles, I continuously analyse ways to improve processes strategically and regularly offer suggestions to the management team.

Skills and Expertise

I have extensive experience in sourcing and placing healthcare professionals, specifically within mental health. I understand the unique staffing needs of hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities, ensuring top talent is matched to the right roles. My expertise spans candidate screening, interviewing, and aligning placements with regulatory requirements, while staying current with healthcare trends and evolving industry standards. In addition to working with candidates, I regularly maintain strong relationships with clients across the UK, striving to find the perfect balance of candidate and client satisfaction.

Personal Attributes

My approach to medical recruitment focuses on matching candidates with roles that align with their expertise, passion, and the cultural needs of healthcare organizations. I prioritise building strong relationships with both healthcare providers and candidates, maintaining open communication to address challenges and ensure successful, long-lasting placements that benefit both sides.

Recruitment Philosophy

True success in medical recruitment lies in finding the intersection of candidate passion and organisational culture, creating partnerships that empower both professionals and healthcare facilities to thrive.
